About Ancient Agora of Athens

The Ancient Agora of Athens is an archaeological Greek museum located towards the northwestern entrance of the Parthenon. The public meeting areas or marketplaces between different states of Greece during the ancient Greek era were called agoras.

Often recognized by the name of Classical Agora by the locals, the Athens Agora was established in the 6th century BC and is now a major tourist destination in Greece. After being used as a busy marketplace for decades, the Ancient Agora in Athens soon became a center point for Athenian legislation and democracy.

The Roman Agora of Athens is divided into a collection of historical structures, including the Temple of Hephaestus, the Stoa of Attalos, the Bouleuterion, the Metroon and the Tholos. If you want to visit, tickets to the Ancient Agora in Athens cost 10€ for adults and 5€ for students as well as seniors and the opening hours are 8 am to 3 pm.
