About the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum

The Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum is a world-famous art museum located in the heart of Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is widely recognized as one of the most important art museums in Europe and is home to an unrivaled collection of paintings, drawings, and sculptures from across the globe.

The museum was founded in 1849 by the Dutch collector Boijmans, but it was not until the early 20th century, under the guidance of the art dealer Van Beuningen, that the collection began to grow into the world-class institution it is today.

The collection at Boijmans Van Beuningen is truly comprehensive, with works from all major art movements from the Middle Ages to modern times. You can view masterpieces by Van Eyck, Bosch, and Rubens as well as by Van Gogh, Mondrian, and Dali. The museum's extensive holdings of contemporary art are especially notable, with works by Andy Warhol, Richard Serra, and Jeff Koons featured in the collection.

The museum building itself is an architectural masterpiece, with a stunning Art Nouveau façade and interiors designed by leading architects. Indeed, the museum is as much a destination for lovers of architecture as it is for art aficionados.
